Hanalei Bay Pier Repair

Assumes responsibility for the Club’s Community Service activities. supervises and coordinates the work of committees appointed for particular aspects of Community Service.

The big commitment of the Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay to repair the Hanalei Pier will be the focus of fund raising activities for the next year.

KCC Vocational Scholarships

Kids Voting at elementary schools

Free vaccinations to Kauai elderly and youth

Princeville Speed reminder signs

Donated and installed View Benches at the Pali Ke Kua Lookout in Princeville

Established Nursing Scholarship at Kauai Community College.

Distributed complimentary dictionaries to third graders on Kauai.

Cleaned up and painted the restrooms at Black Pot Beach.

Secured Weinberg Friends Grant of $10,000 for the Kauai Food Bank.

Built and donated to Kauai County the Water Safety Storage Bldg in Hanalei.

Developed scholarship program to “Home Grow” our own teachers.

Awarded “Teacher of the Year” at Hanalei and Kilauea Elementary Schools.

Rescue Tube Initiative

The Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay is active in promoting ocean safety by installing rescue tubes on sections of beaches that do not have manned life guard station

The Rescue Tube Initiative has saved the lives of 35 people to date. 110 rescue tubes are now scattered around the island beaches.

K-Pal

The Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay made a substantial donation to K-Pal which is a local organization that is supervised by local off-duty police to provide community activities for local kids. The funds went to help renovate a derelict building as a meeting place for kids after school.

Teacher Scholarships

Growing Our Own Teachers, grew out of a Hanalei Bay Rotary project to provide scholarships to local teacher candidates, to become a 501c charity in it's own right. Since the project started there has been no need to import teachers from the mainland.
